The author depicts the nature of Christian theology as being the theory of the Christian life (I), he traces the origin of Christian certainty back to primordial instances of disclosure ("revelations") (II), and explicates the subject matter of faith's confession in words (III) as well as the whole of its confession in deeds (IV). Das Besondere christlicher Gewissheit ist: Unsere Lebensgegenwart ist die Verwirklichung des Gemeinschafts- und Versohnungswillens des Schopfers in dessen Allgegenwart (Apg 17,28). Sie verdankt sich Gottes unverfugbarer Selbsterschliessung. Dadurch wird die christliche Welt-, Ursprungs- und Selbstgewissheit schrittweise gebildet. Der Autor stellt das Wesen christlicher Theologie als Theorie des christlichen Lebens (I), das Zustandekommen der christlichen Gewissheit durch unverfugbare Erschliessungen ("Offenbarungen") (II), den Sachbezug des Wortbekenntnisses des Glaubens (III) sowie das Ganze seines Tatbekenntnisses dar (IV).
