This series is designed to prepare candidates for all three multiple choice question papers in the MRCPsych examination. Each book covers one paper and, in presenting a wide range of practice questions, they aim to teach us as much as to test.
Questions are arranged as mock examination papers. They are relevant to the syllabus, and are based on accessible sources, including standard textbooks and key papers, many from the recommended reading list of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Explanations, notes and references support most answers. ICD-10 and DSM-IV have been adopted.
Highly practical guidance is offered on preparing for and sitting the exams. This includes detailed advice on organizing revision and developing the expertise and skills to answer MCQs. In addition, the nature of the exams, the regulations and the principles underlying the construction of MCQs are clearly explained.
All these books will enable candidates to rehearse and refine their technique, assess their knowledge and build on it.
This basic sciences volume addresses recent changes in the format of the MRCPsych examination and prepares the candidate for what is considered to be the most difficult component of the examination.
