Regional integration, FDI and competitiveness in Southern Africa
Southern Africa, with its vast natural resources and relatively skilled workforce, should be a magnet for foreign direct investment (FDI). This, however, is not the case. Indeed, even domestic investment is low, though intra-regional investment, mainly from South Africa and Mauritius, is notable. This book analyzes investment flows within the region and examines the role of FDI in key industries. It concludes that Southern Africa still has to shake off a reputation for instability and high risk, and makes some recommendations about how that can be achieved.--Publisher summary. Read more...
