This Lhukonzo-English—English-Lhukonzo Dictionary is a simplified guide to those wishing to learn and use either of the two languages. The dictionary gives the user the basic vocabulary of words commonly used in speaking or writing about everyday subjects. Most of the words included in this dictionary are therefore of a non-specialist character. This is a pioneering effort that we hope to make better with subsequent editions. The users of this dictionary should be aware that it does not contain all possible Lhukonzo words since this is a language spoken by a very large number of people found both in Uganda and Congo. There are words used in Congo that have a French and other neighbouring local language influence that have not been included in this dictionary. All words included in this dictionary have been classified according to their grammatical classes and the class is shown after each entry.
