Description:... John Hilton Gordon (1811-1884) was born in North Carolina where his family had lived for several generations. He appears to have moved to Rutherford County, Tennessee as a young man where he married Margaret White in 1832. They were the parents of nine children. Descendants live in Tennessee, Ohio, Florida, Kentucky, Texas, Arizona and California.
