Czas przestał dla mnie istnieć--
analiza doświadczania czasu w sytuacji ostatecznej
Description:... Analyzes the perception of time amongst Jews living in the Warsaw ghetto, in chronological sequence, based on diaries and testimonies written in the ghetto. Deals with the perception of time in everyday life in the first years of the ghetto's existence, during the big "Aktion" in summer 1942, after the "Aktion", during the uprising in April 1943, and in hiding on the "Aryan side". Compares the experience in normal circumstances - when people have a feeling of past, present, and future - with the ghetto, in which these feelings were distorted. Analyzes "abyssal consciousness" as an effect of life in the ghetto, which became a place out of time and out of culture. Ontologic anxiety was the result of being in a situation limiting in space. Concludes that, in the ghetto, consciousness of existence in a time continuum was destroyed. Analyzes, also, various forms of seeking security during these times - e.g. in religion, tradition, and struggle.
