Particles and Fields
X Mexican Workshop on Particles and Fields
Description:... Part A: This volume contains the plenary lectures, research seminars, poster sessions, and laboratory courses presented at the X Mexican Workshop on Particles and Fields. Eight papers by invited world-wide experts review the present experimental and theoretical status of neutrino physics, bottom-quark physics, quantum chromodynamics, physics beyond the standard model, precision electroweak measurements, relativistic heavy ion colliders, and ultra-high energy cosmic rays. In addition, the topics covered in the research seminars and poster sessions include discussions on the most important areas in theoretical, phenomenological, and experimental particle and astroparticle physics. Instrumentation for these areas is also covered in the five laboratory courses on applications of drift chambers, silicon detectors, multiwire proportional chambers, PIN diodes and multi-anode photomultipliers to detect ionizing particles in particle and astroparticle physics. Part B: This volume contains 41 review papers written to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Division of Particles and Fields of the Mexican Physical Society. It covers the most important research topics in experimental, theoretical, and phenomenological particle and astroparticle physics today.
