Food First Resource Guide
Documentation on the Roots of World Hunger and Rural Poverty
Description:... Abstract: Explanations and possible solutions are offered onthe cause of world hunger. Contrary to popular belief, world hunger is not the result of scarcity of resources or overpopulation. Rather, hunger is caused by the inequality in control over food producing resources. The solution to these inequalities is not more advanced technologies, agribusiness, or foreign aid. The redistribution of control over food-producing resources can result in greater food production. Democratic participation in deciding how production will be used is the only insurance that it will benefit the producers. However, land redistribution alone isnot adequate; peasant classes must work for land reform and organize to protect their own interests.
