European Travel Directory
Description:... For a number of years, friends have been suggesting that, since I have traveled so much in all parts of the world, I write a book about some of the places I have visited. They have felt I should list in it the points of interest as well as the hotels, inns, pensions, restaurants, shops, beauty parlors, hospitals, doctors, drugstores, garages, and other things in which the American traveling away from home might be interested. It does not, nor is it intended to, romanticize nor dramatize the European scene. It is a Directory of some of the places most visited in Europe by the American traveler and businessman. It is written entirely from the American viewpoint for the American traveling public, in an American businessman's format. It is not a travel book as such. It is a travel directory. There are plenty of better written, more glamorous European travel guides on the market but nothing that gives the traveler in a nut-shell the answer to a score of different questions which face him every twenty-four hours away from home. -- Pg. 1.
