Description:... Don Jose Maria Sosa, a cavalryman with the Royal Spanish forces at the Presidio de San Igancio de Tubac, Sonora [Arizona], was born in 1746 at Jecori, a small Sapinsh village along the Yaqui River. By the time of the 1798 cesus of the Village of Tucson, he was married to Dona Rita Espinosa and had one son and three daughters. He died before 1811. His son, Jose Maria Sosa II, and his wife, Gregoria Nunes, had eight children. Includes a pedigree chart listing some descendants and a list of surnames of descendants.
