Description:... This report presents a cost analysis of Urea Formaldehyde (UF) Resins production starting from methanol and urea.
In this process, methanol is converted to Formaldehyde over a silver catalyst. The reaction product is distilled for methanol removal and recycle. The final product obtained is Formalin, a 37 wt% Formaldehyde solution. Formaldehyde is then reacted with urea and, finally, polymerized to form the Urea Formaldehyde Resin.
