Pp. 110-164 report on criminal proceedings against the perpetrators in 1948. Among 24 accused, an SA leader was sentenced to two years in prison, and 14 others to 3-20 months. The main perpetrator of the pogrom in Bensheim was caught in 1950, but sentenced to only 15 months. Pp. 165-207 relate the fate of Jewish victims. Pp. 224-239 contain the memoirs of Hans Sternheim, which relate the fate of his parents, Helene and Rudolf Sternheim, who were deported to Theresienstadt in September 1942 and perished there from starvation in May 1943. Hans, his wife, and his daughter managed to escape in 1939 and emigrate to the USA.
