Description:... Realising the importance of literacy in socio economic development, the Govt. of India has established National Literacy Mission to literate 80 million illiterate persons. The literacy promotion is being done through campaign mode. In order to help the Neo-literates to retain the literacy skills a post-literacy and Continuing Educational being operated through Janachaitanya Kendras. The success of the activities of the Janachaitanya Kendras largely depends Monitor who is an incharge of Janachaitanya Kendras. The performance of the Monitors also depends on the extent of their exposure to the field problems and ways and means adopted in tackling them. The present book tries to identify the problems of the Monitors and to suggest appropriate strategies to overcome them.
