Furchtbare Juristen
die unbewältigte Vergangenheit unserer Justiz
Description:... Discusses the nazification of the German legal profession and legal system. States that the Nazis exaggerated the number of Jews in the legal profession - they made up only 0.16% percent, rather than 3%. The law of 7 April 1933 ordered the dismissal of all non-Aryan jurists employed as civil servants. Lawyers were excluded from the Lawyers' Association and from academic institutions. Pp. 97-126 give a detailed account, illustrated by examples, of the workings of the racial laws, including the ban on mixed marriages, which was rigorously enforced.
