Britney had heard that men stationed at the training area and don’t have many day offs, with few women around them, so she assumes a marriage to him would shield her from romantic entanglements and let her focus on her own life.
Expecting a carefree life post-marriage, Britney is taken aback when, within just two months, Manuel completely overturns her assumptions. Every evening, he returns home early, pulling her gently into his arms, his gaze warm with affection and deep longing. The tender passion he shows leaves her no room to escape.
One morning, as the soft sunlight filters through the bedroom, Britney wakes to see Manuel still asleep beside her, frustration and irritation filling her mind. "Mr. Castro, shouldn’t you be back at the training base by now?" she asks. He opens his sleepy eyes, a mischievous smile playing at his lips. "Didn’t someone promise to support me?" Britney, rubbing her sore back, feels a strong sense of foreboding. But before she can protest, Manuel pulls her back into his embrace, whispering softly in her ear, "Your husband is temporarily off duty."
