Description:... An album containing photographs and information about children in Auschwitz. The preface (pp. 19-27) gives general information about the fate of children in the camp. From ca. 232,000 children deported to Auschwitz during 1940-45, ca. 216,000 were Jews; the rest were Gypsies, Poles, Ukrainians, Russians, Hungarians, and others. Pp. 29-142 present photographs, names, and brief biographical information on Jewish children. Fragments of various diaries and memoirs describing the fate of the children are appended.
