Description:... Lupinus lepidus var. lepidus, or prairie lupine, is a multi-stemmed perennial herb which is common in Washington and Oregon. In Canada it is only known from a few sites on southern Vancouver Island. This report describes the species and reviews its geographic distribution, habitat, population size and trends, and general biology. Factors limiting the survival and spread of the species are discussed and the current status of protection of the species is reviewed. Finally, the current status of the species is assessed along with its future prognosis, and a conservation status ranking as an endangered species is recommended.
