In a blend of Frankenstein and The Island of Doctor Moreau fashion, Maxon takes a man and turns him into a monster, though he's trying to improve life. Number Thirteen isn't like the others, of course, and the fun begins there. Inventive and full of action as you'd expect from Burroughs.
