005: The Spectator: Volume 5

Originally published in 1965 and now reissued, this masterly edition of The Spectator was the first to provide an authoritative text, based on a complete collation of the original sheets, and the first to establish the authorship of the contributions to the journal. An extensive introduction and commentary throw new light on problems of publication and enable the reader to enjoy these essays against the background of their own times. A full analytic index is included.
